FISHING REPORT – 29-12-2011

With the weather being kind to us over the Christmas break so far, there has been plenty of activity on the dams in our region. I thought it would be a good time to talk about a few things you can do before heading out onto the water. Make sure you have a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) for each person on the boat, the PFD must have, at least, the Australian Standard AS1512 marked on it. While it is busy, keep an eye out for other water craft and people, particularly in water skiing dams, make sure your boat is ready to launch, before moving on to the boat ramp, this will minimise congestion and be patient at the ramp, not everyone is an expert at backing a trailer. BASS
Cressbrook Dam is still fishing quite well, with good numbers of Bass around the 30-40cm mark, being taken on Soft Plastics, Jackalls and Blades.
With plenty of traffic on the water, the Bass fishing has slowed a bit at Boondooma over the past week, but there has still been a few fish taken in some of the bays throughout the dam, trolled hard bodies have proven to be the best lures. Bjelke Peterson has again produced a few Bass around the points on live bait.
At Somerset the Bass are schooled up around Pelican Point and The Spit, try targeting these with Blades, Jackalls, Spinnerbaits and Soft Plastics and you should pick up a few nice fish.

Yellowbelly and Cod
Still good numbers of Yellowbelly in Boondooma, trolling hard bodies and Jackalls has given the best results. You could also try casting Jackalls and Spinnerbaits, working along the steeper banks, and for the bait anglers, using live Shrimp in the Stewart arm of the dam should see you land a few as well. The Ballone River at St.George is still a bit dirty at the moment; however there has still been good catches of Yellowbelly and Cod throughout the river, with live Shrimp and Crays proving to be the best bait.
The Macintyre had a fresh through it, just before Christmas, this has dirtied the river and shut the fish down as well, however there has been a few Yellowbelly landed, with frozen Saltwater Yabbies and live Crays proving to be the best bait. The Dumeresq River, up and downstream Texas has seen good catches of Yellowbelly and a few Cod, mainly taken on live bait. Fishing has been pretty good at Coolmunda this week, with good numbers of Yellowbelly being caught on frozen Saltwater Yabbies and also trolled hard body lures. Leslie Dam has produced some quality Yellowbelly and Silver Perch on live Worms and Shrimp, as well as trolled hard body lures. Glenlyon has again fished well over the past week, with some nice Cod around the 60 – 70cm mark, as well as plenty of Yellowbelly and Silver Perch, caught mainly on Spinnerbaits, trolled hard body lures and live Shrimp.
GOLD COAST AND THE TWEED

It has been hard going offshore, due to the big seas caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Fina, but for the few who had boats big enough to venture out, there has been heaps of Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo at 9 Mile reef and Tuskies, Squire and the odd Dolphin Fish on the 36’s. Inshore has seen good numbers of Jack’s around the bridges and rock walls at Chinderah and Tumblegum in the Tweed and also in the Coomera and Nerang River’s, Tailor, Dart and Trevelly in the Seaway, nice Flathead near Seagulls in the Tweed, it’s also worth a look around the mouth of the Tweed for Kingies and Squire and there has been plenty of Muddies in the upper reaches of the Tweed, as well as good numbers of Sand Crabs throughout the Broadwater.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing again has been hard going due to the big swell, but there has been good numbers of Yellowfin Tuna, Spotty and Spanish Mackerel, Coral Trout, Sweetlip and Snapper on most of the inner reefs. Inshore has seen, the Noosa River is producing plenty of Mangrove Jack and Flathead at night with a few quality Barramundi thrown in as well, also a few Jewies on soft plastics in Woods Bay and good numbers of Muddies in the upper reaches, the Passage at Caloundra is very dirty from the big seas offshore, however there has been the odd Flathead caught off the Boardwalk, the Maroochy River has also been a bit dirty from rain inflow into the system, but it is starting to clear up, which should see the fishing really fire up over the next few weeks.

FISHING REPORT – 22-12-2011


BASS

Cressbrook Dam has continued to fish well, with good numbers of Bass around the 30-40cm mark, being taken on Soft Plastics, Jackalls and Blades.
Bass fishing has slowed a bit at Boondooma over the past week, but there has still been a few fish taken in some of the bays throughout the dam, Jackalls, Blades and Spinnerbaits have proven to be the best lures. Bjelke Peterson has again produced a few Bass around the points on live bait.

The fishing has slowed a bit at Coolmunda this week, but there has still been a few Yellowbelly taken around the timber, using Jackalls and live Shrimp, and also the odd one caught on the flats trolling hard bodies. Leslie Dam has produced some quality Yellowbelly, mainly trolling hard body lures in the dam wall area. Glenlyon has again fished well over the past week, with some nice Cod around the 65 – 75cm mark, as well as plenty of Yellowbelly, caught mainly on Spinnerbaits, trolled hard body lures and live Shrimp.













GOLD COAST AND THE TWEED

For those of you who like your Mackerell fishing, there are plenty of Spotties about at the moment, particularly off the Tweed Coast; there has also been good numbers of Dolphin Fish on the wider reefs. Inshore has seen good catches of Bream and Whiting at the Pumping Jetty at Southport, some big Trevelly and Flathead in the canals and near the boat ramps in the Tweed, there has also been heaps of Trevelly and a few Jewies in the Seaway and throughout the Broadwater, good numbers of Jack’s around the bridges and rock walls in the Tweed and there has been good reports of Spanner Crabs about, after the season for these opened on Monday.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has been reasonable over the past week, with good numbers of Spotty Mackerel and the odd Dolphin Fish around 12 Mile Reef and also some quality Snapper at Brays Rock. Inshore has seen good numbers of Mangrove Jack in the canals and Trevelly in the Boardwalk area at Caloundra, the Noosa River has also produced plenty of Mangrove Jack and Trevelly, with a few quality Barramundi thrown in as well, the Maroochy River has settled abit as far as the Bream and Jacks are concerned, but there has been some good catches of Flathead throughout the area.

HERVEY BAY

Heaps of Squid and a few Coral Bream about on the shallower reefs, while the Burrum River has again provided some good fishing with plenty of Threadfin Salmon and Mangrove Jack about and. the Mary and Susan Rivers have also produced good numbers of Salmon and Barramundi throughout.

FISHING REPORT – 15-12-2011


BASS

Cressbrook Dam has continued to fish well, with good numbers of Bass around the 30-40cm mark, being taken on Soft Plastics, Jackalls and Blades.
Boondooma Dam has continued to fish well, with good numbers of Bass landed throughout the dam, casting blades to the edges and trolling hard body lures around the points, has proven to be the most successful. Bjelke Peterson has again produced a few, just legal Bass on live bait, as well as some nice Yellowbelly on trolled lures, in the timbered area of the dam.
At Somerset, there are still some nice Bass around, but you still have to put in a bit of time to find the fish, try targeting these fish with jackalls, blades and soft plastics and you should land a few and the Redclaw have become a bit more active over the past week as well.

Yellowbelly and Cod

Still good numbers of Yellowbelly in Boondooma, basically in the same areas, and using the same methods that the Bass have been caught on.
The Ballone River at St.George has a good flow in it at the moment, however there are plenty of Yellowbelly and Cod being caught in the town reaches.
The Macintyre is again producing good numbers of Yellowbelly and Cod, with frozen Saltwater Yabbies and trolled lures proving to be the most successful methods.
Coolmunda has continued to fish well this week, with some good numbers of Yellowbelly and a few big Cod landed, the best methods have been, trolling hard body lures, casting Jackalls and using live shrimp.
Leslie Dam has produced some quality Yellowbelly, mainly on bait, and also some Cod, trolling hard body lures in deeper water. Glenlyon has again fished well over the past week, with some nice Cod up around the 15lb mark, as well as plenty of Yellowbelly, caught mainly on Spinnerbaits, trolled hard body lures and live Shrimp.













GOLD COAST AND THE TWEED

The offshore fishing has picked up this week with good catches of Spotty Mackerell, Yellowtail Kingfish and Snapper on the 18’s and 24’s, while further out on the 36’s and 40’s, there has been plenty of Dolphin Fish, Wahoo and Black Marlin. Inshore has seen good size Flathead and Whiting throughout the Tweed and Broadwater, School Jew and Mangrove Jack around structure in the Tweed and also in the creeks and rivers at the Gold Coast, Gar out from Seaworld and Sand Crabs are prominent in the Broadwater.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has picked up here as well over past week, with some fairly good numbers of Spotty Mackerel and Coral Trout caught around the inner reefs. Inshore has seen big numbers of good size Flathead in the Boardwalk area at Caloundra, and also throughout the Maroochy and Noosa Rivers, plenty of Queenfish and Trevally in the passage and the Noosa River, the Noosa River has also produced good catches of Threadfin Salmon, Barramundi and Mangrove Jack. The Maroochy River has provided some fun for the Bream anglers, with plenty of fish being taken on surface poppers and there has been heaps of Muddies caught throughout the creeks.

HERVEY BAY

The shallow reefs of the bay have seen plenty of activity, with good numbers of Coral Trout, Coral Bream and School Mackerel landed, while the Burrum River has been producing plenty of Jack’s and Barra.

FISHING REPORT – 08-12-2011


BASS
Cressbrook Dam continued to fish quite well prior to the rain, with some good numbers of Bass around the 30-40cm mark, being taken on Soft Plastics, Jackall Chubbies and Blades.
Boondooma Dam has continued to fish well, with good numbers of Bass landed throughout the dam. Casting Jackalls and Spinnerbaits to the edges and trolling hard body lures in darker colours, early morning and late afternoon, and brighter colours through the middle of the day has proven to be the most successful. Bjelke Peterson has produced a few, just legal Bass on live bait, and Baramba Creek above and below the dam is still producing quality fish in good numbers.
At Somerset, there are still some nice Bass around, in the deeper water, try targeting these fish with Jackalls, Blades and Soft Plastics and you should land a few.

Still good numbers of Yellowbelly in Boondooma, basically in the same areas, and using the same methods that the Bass have been caught on. The fishing picked up again at Coolmunda this week, with some good numbers of Yellowbelly and a few big Cod landed, the best methods have been, trolling hard body lures, casting Jackalls and using live shrimp.
Leslie Dam has quietened a little this week, but has still produced a few Yellowbelly and Silver Perch, which have been taken on bait and trolled hard body lures.
Glenlyon has again fished well over the past week, with some nice Cod up around the 70-75cm mark, as well as good numbers of Yellowbelly, caught mainly on Spinnerbaits, trolled hard body lures and live Shrimp.







GOLD COAST AND THE TWEED

The offshore fishing has been fairly nonexistent over the past week, due to strong offshore winds, however, inshore has seen plenty of Whiting in the Nerang River, Flathead throughout the Tweed River and around the sand bars in the Broadwater, Mangrove Jack around the bridges and jetties at night in the Tweed, Barney’s Point is producing good catches of Jew around the bridges in the Tweed and also off the headlands at Kingscliff and Cabarita and there’s been plenty of Sand Crabs throughout the Broadwater.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has also been quiet over the past week, due to strong winds. Inshore has produced good numbers of Flathead in the Boardwalk area at Caloundra, and also in most of the estuaries throughout the coast, Mangrove Jack’s around Munna Point and near structure in most of the creeks and rivers, heaps of Trevally and the odd Barramundi still getting about in the Noosa River and plenty of Whiting near the Power Boat Club.

HERVEY BAY

Again, it has been to windy for any offshore fishing this week, but it’s worth a try in the Mary River for Grunter and Salmon.

Fishing Report 1-12-2011

FISHING REPORT – 01-12-2011

YARAMOLONG WEIR CARP BUSTER COMPETITION
Last Sunday morning saw around 120 people head out to Yaramolong Weir near Pampas, to do their bit in the fight against Carp in our waterways. Over the 6 hours of the competition, there was 152 Carp caught, with the biggest weighing in at 3.5kg. This fish was caught by Krista Gollan of Millmerran and Matt Mogg of Toowoomba caught the most Carp, with a total of 23. There was also quite a few Yellowbelly landed, and overall everyone had an enjoyable morning, with many people asking when the next one was going to be held. A special mention for Brett and Sarah Wilson, and I’m sure many others who helped organize and run the day, and also the sponsors who got behind the day and helped out with the prizes.

Inshore has seen plenty of Whiting at the Anchorage in the Tweed and near the Council Chambers in the Nerang River, Flathead throughout the Tweed River and the Jumpinpin area, Mangrove Jack around Hope Island and near the bridges and rock walls in the Tweed, Gar on the flats just near Seaworld, School Jew around the bridges in the Tweed and also off the headlands at Kingscliff and Cabarita and there’s been plenty of Sand and Mud Crabs throughout the creeks and rivers.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has been a bit quiet over the past week, but there has been good numbers of Sweetlip and Snapper, as well as a few Mackerel around 12 Mile Reef. Inshore has seen good numbers of Flathead in the Boardwalk area at Caloundra, Tailor at the bar entrance of the passage and the mouth of the Noosa River, Jack’s also around the mouth of the Noosa River and in Bells Creek, Trevally in the passage, the Noosa River and Bells Creek, Whiting around the Power Boat Club and in numbers off the beaches, and Muddies in the estuaries.

CARP BUSTER COMPETITION THIS WEEKEND AT YARAMOLONG WEIR

BASS

Boondooma Dam has continued to fish well, with good numbers of Bass landed throughout the dam. Trolling hard body lures in darker colours, early morning and late afternoon, and brighter colours through the middle of the day has proven to be the most successful. Bjelke Peterson has produced a few just legal Bass around the wall end of the dam, these have been caught working Spinnerbaits deep and Baramba Creek above and below the dam is still producing quality fish in good numbers.
Somerset has fished a bit tougher over the past week, the fish have been a lot harder to find, but when you do, there has been some reasonable numbers of fish caught on soft plastics and Ice Jigs, there has also been some fish caught in the timbered area of the dam.

Yellowbelly and Cod

Still good numbers of Yellowbelly in Boondooma, basically in the same areas, and using the same methods that the Bass have been caught on.. The Macintyre at Goondiwindi has produced good numbers of Yellowbelly, up to 62cm over the past week on bait and Spinnerbaits. There were also a few Cod caught and released over the weekend, and remember, Murray cod cannot be taken from the Macintyre, Dumaresq and Barwon Rivers between 1st September and 30th November. Coolmunda has again produced plenty of Yellowbelly this week, the best methods have been, trolling hard body lures and using live shrimp.
Leslie Dam is still fishing quite well, with good numbers of quality Yellowbelly, Silver Perch and a few Cod taken on bait and trolled hard body lures.
Glenlyon has again fished well over the past week, with good numbers of Yellowbelly and Cod, caught mainly on Spinnerbaits and hard body lures, but there has been good numbers also taken on live Shrimp.






GOLD COAST AND THE TWEED

It has been a bit windy offshore this week, but there have been a few brave souls who have ventured out to the Shelf and got in amongst some big Dolphin Fish, Wahoo and Marlin, and in a bit closer, there has been a few Snapper and Amberjacks on the 36’s. Inshore has seen plenty of Whiting coming off the beaches, Flathead around the mouth of the Tweed River on Soft Plastics, Blades and drifting baits, in the Terranora Lakes area and also on Soft Plastics around Jumpinpin. Mangrove Jack on trolled hard body lures in the Coomera River, School Jew around the bridges in the Tweed and also off Kingscliff and Cabarita Beaches.

SUNSHINE COAST

Good catches of big Snapper around the 5.5 to 6kg mark at Murphy’s Reef, a few Cobia around North Reef, Sweetlip and Snapper on Sunshine Reef, a few Spanish Mackerel off the headlands and there has been some Spotty Mackerel caught around 5 Mile Reef. Inshore has seen good numbers of Flathead and Whiting off Golden Beach and in the lower reaches of the Noosa River. Bream Estuary Cod and Mangrove Jack around the Boardwalk at Caloundra, Jack’s also in Bells Creek, and between the lakes in the upper reaches of the Noosa River, and still the odd Barramundi, has been taken in the lakes area as well, mainly on lures and soft plastics.

FISHING REPORT – 17-11-2011

Past week

BASS

Very similar to last week, Boondooma is still fishing well, with good numbers of Bass, up to 50cm, landed throughout the dam. Best methods are casting Spinnerbaits and Jackalls, in dark colours, to the edges, hopping Mask Vibes and Blades around Pelican Point as well as trolling hard body lures. Bait fishing has quietened down a bit, but there are still a few Bass taking live shrimps and worms.
Bjelke Peterson has produced a few just legal Bass on bait around Pelican Point and Baramba Creek above and below the dam is still producing quality fish in good numbers.
Somerset is still fishing quite well, with some quality Bass taken around the Pelican Point area, slow rolling Soft Plastics and Spinnerbaits along the bottom, there has also been some smaller fish taken on Ice Jigs in the same area of the dam.
Maroon Dam has again produced good catches of Bass on surface lures, fishing the edges, early morning and late afternoon.

Glenlyon has again fished well over the past week, with good numbers of Yellowbelly and Cod, caught mainly on Spinnerbaits and hard body lures. Pittsworth angler Errol Pearce caught a nice 98cm Cod here last week, the fish was taken on a Spinnerbait.

Redclaw continue to become a more active in Cressbrook, Boondooma, Bjelke Peterson and Somerset, as the water temperature increases.




GOLD COAST AND THE TWEED

Good numbers of Yellowtail Kingfish and GT’s, taken around 9 Mile Reef, Squire around Cook Island, plenty of Snapper and Cobia on the 24’s, some nice Dolphin Fish and Wahoo on the 50’s and on the closer reefs at night, there has been a few Tailor and Trag Jew taken. Inshore has seen plenty of Whiting throughout the Tweed River, Coombabah Creek and Pimpama River and also near the Council Chambers in the Nerang River. Flathead throughout the Tweed River, also around Crab Island and the Aldershots at the Gold Coast, Mangrove Jack around the rock walls and bridges in the Tweed, the Gold Coast Seaway is producing good numbers of Jewies, Tarpon and Trevelly on the run in tide, a few Whiting and Dart off most of the beaches and there has been a few Sandcrabs caught in the Northern parts of the Broadwater, as well as a few Muddies in the upper reaches of the Tweed.

SUNSHINE COAST

Good catches of Snapper at 5 Mile Reef, a few Cobia around 12 Mile and North Reef, quality Trout, Sweetlip and Snapper on Sunshine Reef, and there has been some big Kingies and Amberjacks caught around “The Hards”. Inshore has seen good numbers of big Flathead and Jack’s around the Boardwalk and Bar entrance at Caloundra, Flathead also throughout the Noosa River, Mangrove Jacks to 60cm and smaller Trevelly on surface poppers in most of the canals, between the lakes in the upper reaches of the Noosa River, is still producing good catches of Mangrove Jack and Barramundi up to 1m plus, mainly on lures and soft plastics, and plenty of Whiting of the beaches and throughout the creeks and rivers.

Fishing Report 10-11-2011

BASS

Boondooma is still fishing well, with good numbers of Bass, up to 50cm landed, throughout the dam. Somerset is still fishing quite well, with some nice Bass taken on Soft Plastics, Blades and Ice Jigs from Beams Creek through to the Queen Street area of the dam.
Maroon Dam has seen good catches of Bass on surface lures, fishing the edges, early morning and late afternoon.

Coolmunda has produced plenty of Yellowbelly and a few Cod this week, there was a 98cm Cod caught and released, and the majority of the fish have been caught, trolling hard body lures.
Leslie Dam is producing a few Yellowbelly, Silver Perch and the odd Eel Tail Catfish, mainly on live Shrimps, with a few fish caught on hard body lures.
Glenlyon has again fished well over the past week, with good numbers of Yellowbelly and Cod, from 65-75cm, caught mainly on Spinnerbaits and hard body lures. There has also been quite a few fish taken on live bait.

Redclaw have started to become a bit more active in Cressbrook, Boondooma, Bjelke Peterson and Somerset, due to the increase in water temperature.




GOLD COAST AND THE TWEED

Good numbers of Yellowtail Kingfish and Amberjacks taken on Jigs, mainly around the Northern 50’s and 9 Mile Reef, Squire around Cook Island, plenty of Cobia on the 18 and 24’s and some nice Mahi Mahi on the 36’s. Inshore has seen plenty of Whiting and Flathead throughout the Tweed River, Flathead also around Crab Island and the Aldershots at the Gold Coast, Mangrove Jack near the rock wall at Chinderah, in the Tweed, the Gold Coast Seaway is still producing good numbers of Tailor, Tarpon and Trevelly off the north wall, a few Tailor and Dart off most of the beaches and there has been a few Mudcrabs caught in Pimpama Creek and the Tweed and Coomera Rivers.

SUNSHINE COAST

Good catches of Snapper and Grassy Sweetlip at 9 Mile Reef, a few Cobia around 12 Mile Reef, big Red’s, Pearl Perch and Snapper at Double Island Point and closer in, on Sunshine Reef, there has been good numbers of mixed reef fish and Snapper taken on Lucanus Jigs. Inshore has seen good numbers of big Flathead and Bream around the Boardwalk at Caloundra, Chopper Tailor at the Bar entrance, and Whiting near the Power Boat Club and opposite Munna Banks in the Noosa River. Mangrove Jacks in the Pelican Waters canals, big Jacks and G.T’s upstream, near Tewantin, in the Noosa River, and between the lakes in the upper reaches of the Noosa River has also produced good catches of Mangrove Jack, Barramundi up to 1m plus, and Threadfin Salmon, trolling diving lures at about 3 metres.

FISHING REPORT – 03-11-2011

DIRRINBANDI CARP BUSTERS

Dirrinbandi was host to the latest Carp Busters Competition last weekend, there was plenty of action for all who attended, with over 3000 Carp landed. There was also about 250 native fish caught and released for the weekend.

BASS

Cressbrook has produced a few Bass over the past week, with most of the fish coming out of schools, on Ice Jigs and Blades.
Boondooma is still fishing well, with good numbers of Bass, up to 46cm landed mainly from the Junction through to the timber in the Boyne arm of the dam. Best methods are casting Spinnerbaits and Jackalls, in dark colours, to the edges, as well as trolling hard body lures, like Strada Ambush and Smak Brolga’s and fishing the start of the timber in the Stuart and Boyne arms with live shrimp and worms is also producing some quality fish.
Bjelke Peterson has again, produced a few undersize Bass on Blades, off the points and Baramba Creek above and below the dam is still producing quality fish in good numbers.
Somerset has quietened a bit over the past week, but there was still some nice Bass up to 2kg taken on Soft Plastics around the Pelican Point area of the dam.
Moogerah Dam produced some healthy fish over the past week, up to 40cm,mainly trolling hard body lures.

Yellowbelly and Cod

Good numbers of Yellowbelly in Boondooma, basically in the same areas that the Bass are, again, the best methods are casting Jackalls and Spinnerbaits to the edges, trolling hard body lures on the drop-offs, and using live Worms and Shrimp at the start of the timber in the Stuart and Boyne arms of the dam.
The Macintyre at Goondiwindi is still producing plenty of Yellowbelly in the town reaches, the river has settled a bit after a rise in levels last week. Best results, using frozen saltwater yabbies, live Shrimp and Crays. There has also been quite a few Carp caught in amongst the Yellowbelly.
Coolmunda is very similar to last week, with steady catches of fish on live shrimp, worms and frozen saltwater yabbies, there has also been good catches of Yellowbelly, mainly trolling hard body lures.
Leslie Dam has produced a few Yellowbelly and the odd Silver Perch, mainly on live Shrimps, with a few fish caught on hard body lures.
Glenlyon has sparked up over the past week, with good numbers of Yellowbelly caught on live Shrimp and the odd one on trolled hard bodies, there has also been some Cod caught, around the 60-70cm mark, mainly on trolled Spinnerbaits.


GOLD COAST AND THE TWEED

Good numbers of Yellowtail Kingfish on the wider reefs and also good catches of Snapper on the closer reefs. Inshore has seen plenty of Flathead throughout the Tweed River, with the bigger fish coming from around the mouth, Flatties also around Crab Island and Kalinga Bank. The Seaway is still producing good numbers of Tailor and Trevelly, there has also been a few Trevelly around the bridges and structure throughout the Tweed, the pipeline at Southport is still producing good numbers of Mulloway, plenty of Whiting in the Nerang River and throughout the Tweed, Mangrove Jacks in the upper reaches of the Coomera River and there has been a few Mudcrabs showing up in most of the creeks.

SUNSHINE COAST

North Reef has produced the majority of the fish this week, with plenty of Cobia, Snapper, Spanish and Spotty Mackerell, some big Red Emperor up to 17kg and the odd Coral Trout. Inshore has seen good numbers of Flathead in the Maroochy River, off the Boardwalk and in the lower parts of the Noosa River. The upper reaches of the Noosa River is still producing good catches of Barramundi, up to 1m plus, also some quality Mangrove Jack on live bait. Jewies in the deeper holes in the passage, big Brim, Trevelly and Dart off the beaches and plenty of Crabs throughout the estuaries.
