FISHING REPORT – 31-12-2015

BASS

Cressbrook Dam is fishing quite well for Bass, TN60 Jackalls and spinnerbaits are working well, looking out off Deer Island, where the fish are suspended at about 20-30ft has been a good option, it’s also worth a look near the eagles nest and into the Cressbrook Creek arm of the dam, the fish are by no means easy to catch, but if you happen to hook a few, there are some quality fish getting about. Somerset Dam saw some good catches over the past week, the deeper water in the timbered part of the dam saw the fish suspended at about 20ft and working Spinnerbaits through these fish produced some good results. Queen Street, Pelican Point and Bay 13 have also been popular spot’s for the anglers, where hopping blades and Soft Vibes has been effective. Trolling hard bodies from the junction to the start of the timber in the Stuart arm has been very productive at Boondooma, while working blades and TN60’s through suspended fish, in deeper water, has produced better quality Bass and working the points with spinnerbaits has picked up a few as well. Bjelke Peterson has also produced good numbers of Bass this week, working the edges with spinnerbaits, Jackalls and Blades has been good, while trolling hard bodies off the steeper points of the dam has produced some good fish as well, and down at Moogerah Dam, the excessive boat traffic is not doing anglers any favours at the moment, but Maroon continues to fish quite well with some nice Bass being landed over the past week or so.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

Cooby Dam is a bit hit and miss at the moment, but if you’re there on the right day, there has been some good catches of Yellowbelly around the weed edges; trolled hard bodies and spinnerbaits have worked well, while blades, live Shrimp and frozen saltwater yabbies have been effective on the deeper schooled fish, and the land based anglers have also caught a few, with frozen saltwater yabbies and live worms being the best option for them. Glenlyon has been a bit quiet for Yellowbelly, although live Shrimp have picked up a few in the deeper water, there has been good numbers of Cod caught, trolling hard bodies in 12-15ft of water, most of these fish have been around 60-70cm, however there’s been a few up around the meter mark. Coolmunda has produced a few Yellowbelly on Jackalls and Spinnerbaits worked around the timber, while frozen Saltwater Yabbies and trolled hard bodies have been effective along the old creek beds. Leslie Dam is fishing very well at the moment with anglers reporting some nice fish on both lures and bait. There have been some nice Yellowbelly landed as well as some quality Murray Cod, live shrimp are working the best for the bait anglers with saltwater yabbies bringing good results also, anglers have also had  success trolling hard body lures in 12-18ft of water, and in the South Burnett, both Boondooma and Bjelke Peterson dams have again produced good numbers of Yellowbelly, in Boondooma, bait and trolled hard bodies have been effective around the junction, while casting spinnerbaits around the points has produced some quality fish, while at Bjelke Peterson, trolling hard bodies, or casting blades and TN60’s have worked well in the main basin.

COASTAL FISHING

t’s been difficult getting offshore right along the coast this week, due to the strong winds. When conditions have allowed it, the 50’s out off the Gold Coast has produced Spotties, Tuna, Marlin and Dolphin Fish. Inshore fishing has been a better option, with smaller Kingies and Trevally, in the Seaway, early morning on the run in tide, Whiting are still prominent around the mouth of the Coomera River and near the Council Chambers in the Nerang River and a few Jacks are still hanging around the bridges throughout the canals. While at the Sunny Coast, fishing the creeks and canals has been the better option for the windy conditions. Jacks have been hitting plastics, live Herring and Jackall Squirrels around bridge pylons and pontoons, working drains on the last of the outgoing tide has produced a few Flatties and Bream and live yabbies and beach worms have worked well for Whiting throughout.

BASS

Cressbrook Dam is a bit hit and miss at the moment, there have been some good quality fish hitting TN60 Jackalls, out from Deer Island, it’s also worth a look near the eagles nest and into the Cressbrook Creek arm of the dam. Somerset Dam has seen some good catches over the past week; Queen Street has been a popular spot for the anglers, where hopping blades and Soft Vibes have been effective. Trolling hard bodies from the junction to the start of the timber in the Stuart arm has worked well at Boondooma this week, while using unweighted live shrimp and casting Spinnerbaits and Jackalls around the trees, in the upper reaches of both arms has been good also. Similar at Bjelke Peterson, it has again produced good numbers of Bass, working the edges with spinnerbaits, Jackalls and Blades, while trolling hard bodies through the main bays of the dam has produced some good fish as well.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

Cooby is also a bit patchy at the moment, working the Western bank out from the dam wall buoy line and into the northern arm has been popular, while TN60 Jackalls have produced the majority of the fish, the land based anglers have also caught a few, with frozen saltwater yabbies being the best option for them. Glenlyon has fished well again this week, with good numbers of Yellowbelly and Silver Perch landed, live Shrimp have been the pick of the baits, while trolled hard bodies and Spinnerbaits have seen a few Cod caught. Coolmunda has again produced good numbers of Cod and Yellowbelly on trolled hard body lures and spinnerbaits, working the old creek beds, the timbered areas and along the wall have still been the best spots to target. Leslie Dam continues to fish well, with good numbers of Yellowbelly taken on blades, TN60 Jackalls and live shrimp, most of these fish have been found in 20 to 30ft of water and fishing in the main basin has given the best results, and in the South Burnett, both Boondooma and Bjelke Peterson dams have again produced good numbers of Yellowbelly, in Boondooma, bait and trolled hard bodies have been effective around the junction, while casting spinnerbaits around the timber and to the edges in both arms has produced some quality fish, while at Bjelke Peterson, casting reaction lures, like spinnerbaits and Jackalls to the edges has been a popular method and trolled hard bodies have worked well in the main basin. As for the rivers, locally the Condamine has produced a few Yellowbelly and Cod, mainly on the Southern part of the downs.

GOLD COAST

Offshore fishing has produced plenty of Kingies on knife jigs on the 50’s, good numbers of Mackerel on the18’s, 24’s and 36’s, drifting pillies has given the best results. Inshore fishing has seen smaller Kingies and Trevally, early morning on the run in tide, in the Seaway, Whiting are still prominent around the mouth of the Coomera River and near the Council Chambers in the Nerang River, Jacks around the bridges throughout the canals and Hinze Dam has been firing for Bass.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has seen some decent schools of Spotty and Spanish Mackerel getting about, casting metal slugs and running them back through the fish has worked the best, and a few reports of mixed reef fish on 12 Mile and Sunshine Reefs. Inshore fishing has seen the Bar entrance at Caloundra producing some nice Flathead, while in the passage, smaller Jewies are holding in the deeper holes, the Maroochy River has been fishing well for Jacks around the creek mouths Flathead, Trevally and Jewies at the mouth of the Noosa River, Whiting on surface poppers just inside the river mouth and the beaches have been fishing quite well, with good reports of bigger Dart on the early morning high tides and also a few Whiting and Flathead on the run out tide along the closer gutters.

 

 

 

FISHING REPORT   – 17-12-2015

BASS

Cressbrook Dam has again seen plenty of smaller Bass hitting blades, spinnerbaits and tailspinners in the upper reaches of the Bull and Cressbrook Creek arms, afternoon is still the best time to fish. Boondooma Dam has seen some quality Bass in the deeper water towards the wall, rolling soft plastics and silent TN60 Jackalls through them, has been the most effective methods, spinnerbaits and bait are still working around the timber in the Stuart and Boyne arms, while trolling hard bodies from the junction into the Stuart arm has produced some decent fish as well. Bjelke Petersen dam has seen trolled hard bodies working well on the flats, while casting small blades to the edges throughout the dam has worked the best, and at Somerset Dam, the fish are still fairly difficult to catch. The best shows have been on the flats in Queen Street, Bay 13 and Pelican Point, the best options are using live shrimp, soft plastics and spinnerbaits.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD.

Cooby Dam has produced a few fish on bait off the steeper banks, along the walking track. Working the banks back out from the buoy line has been productive, trolling hard bodies is the best option, however spinnerbaits and TD Woofers have picked up a couple as well. At Boondooma, live shrimp are working well around the timber in the Boyne and Stuart arms and trolling hard bodies in 30-40ft of water is producing fish as well. Bjelke Peterson has seen some quality Yellowbelly taken on trolled hard bodies in the deeper water, while casting spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits to the edges has also seen some decent fish caught. Good quality Yellowbelly are taking darker coloured lures at Glenlyon this week, there have also been quite a few Cod about, between 40 and 90cm, bait, bigger spinnerbaits and hard bodies are all working well for these fish. Coolmunda is still producing a few Yellowbelly, with some smaller Cod in amongst them, trolling the old creek beds and around the timber has worked well, live crays and frozen saltwater yabbies have both been successful for the bait anglers. Leslie Dam continues to fish well, with good numbers of Yellowbelly taken on blades, TN60 Jackalls and live shrimp, most of these fish have been found in 20 to 30ft of water and fishing in the main basin has given the best results. As for the rivers, the Macintyre River at Goondiwindi has produced a few Yellowbelly on spinnerbaits and bait, the Dumeresq River at Texas is a bit dirty at the moment, there has only been a couple of Cod caught on bigger spinnerbaits and locally, the Condamine River has only produced small numbers of Yellowbelly on bait and purple coloured hard bodies, due to the water still being a bit unsettled.

GOLD COAST

Offshore fishing has seen plenty of Mackerel taking unweighted pillies on the 24’s and 50’s, and the 50’s has also produced good numbers of Dolphin Fish, while inshore fishing has produced Flathead at Kalinga Bank, plenty of Jack’s around the pylons and pontoons in the Nerang River and the entrance to the Seaway has produced Mulloway and Trevelly, on the run in tide.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has seen the inner reefs producing a mix of smaller reef fish and school Mackerel, while the wider reefs are producing Spotty and Spanish Mackerel along with a few Wahoo. Inshore fishing has seen Grunter Bream off the Boardwalk at Caloundra, Whiting throughout the Maroochy River, some nice Jack’s and Trevally throughout most of the estuaries and the Noosa River has seen good numbers of Jack’s in the lower reaches of the river, quality Whiting on live beach worms at the frying pan, good numbers of Big Eye Trevally and GT’s early morning and evening in Woods Bay and the beaches have produced plenty of Whiting on the last of the runout tide.

BASS

Cressbrook Dam has seen plenty of smaller Bass hitting blades, spinnerbaits and tailspinners in the upper reaches of the Bull and Cressbrook Creek arms, there is the odd bigger fish in amongst them and afternoon is when the fish are most active. Boondooma Dam has seen some quality Bass taken off the edges, with Blades and Jackalls proving to be the most effective, spinnerbaits and bait are still working around the timber in the Stuart and Boyne arms, while trolling hard bodies around the junction has again produced some fish as well. Bjelke Petersen dam has produced large numbers of smaller Bass, with the odd bigger fish in amongst them, casting small blades and spinnerbaits around the points and timbered edges throughout the dam has worked best, live shrimp have been good as well, and at Somerset Dam, the fish are a bit scattered at the moment and when you do find some, they are fairly difficult to catch. The best shows have been on the flats in Queen Street, Bay 13 and Pelican Point, your best options would be using live shrimp, soft plastics and spinnerbaits.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD.

Cooby Dam has produced a few fish on bait off the banks, looking around the buoy line and also the banks working back from there has been good, trolling hard bodies is the best option, however spinnerbaits and soft vibes have picked up a couple as well. There was a cracking 113cm Cod caught just on dark Saturday, well done to Phil Jackson and Josh Snell for landing this fish, getting a quick photo and releasing it to fight another day, at Boondooma, live shrimp are working well around the timber, in the Boyne and Stuart arms and trolling hard bodies in 30-40ft of water is producing fish as well. Bjelke Peterson has seen some quality Yellowbelly taken on trolled hard bodies in the deeper water, while casting spinnerbaits around the timber has also seen some decent fish caught. Good quality Yellowbelly are taking darker coloured lures at Glenlyon this week, there have also been quite a few Cod about, with bait, bigger spinnerbaits and hard bodies working well on these fish. Coolmunda is producing good numbers of Yellowbelly, with a few smaller Cod in amongst them, trolling the old creek beds and around the timber has worked well, live crays and frozen saltwater yabbies have both been successful for the bait anglers. At Leslie Dam, Yellowbelly have again been out in good numbers, they have been taken on frozen saltwater yabbies and live shrimp, trolling deep diving lures has worked as well, there has also been quite a few smaller Cod and stacks of Silver Perch and Jew landed off the banks using bait. As for the rivers, the Balonne at St.George is fishing well for Yellowbelly and Cod, casting spinnerbaits around snags, as well as trolling hard body lures has produced the most fish, the Macintyre River at Goondiwindi has improved this week with good reports of Yellowbelly taking spinnerbaits and bait, there has been a few Cod about as well and the Dumeresq River at Texas has fished reasonably well for Yellowbelly and smaller Cod using lures and bait.

GOLD COAST AND TWEED
Offshore fishing this week, has seen good numbers of smaller Black Marlin taking trolled lures in 25-30 metres of water, plenty of Mackerel out from Currumbin and Palm Beach, and the 50 Fathoms have seen good numbers of Wahoo, Cobia and Blue Marlin, while inshore, the Tweed River has seen good numbers of Flathead and Whiting throughout, Jacks are still active around structure, while up around Southport, Flathead have been taking hard body lures around Crab Island, plenty of Jack’s around Sovereign Island and the Runaway Bay canals, Whiting at the council chambers and in most of the creeks, Sand Crabs in the southern parts of the Broadwater and the Seaway has produced Mulloway and Trevelly along the north wall, on the run in tide.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has seen the inner reefs producing a mix of smaller reef fish, while the wider reefs are producing a few Spotty Mackerel, Cobia, Wahoo and Yellowtail Kingfish, while inshore fishing has seen good sized Flathead landed off the Boardwalk at Caloundra, Whiting at the Power Boat Club and throughout the Maroochy and Noosa Rivers, some nice Mangrove Jack and Barramundi also in the Noosa River, Jack’s up to 50cm have also been taken around Bells Creek, and the Pelican Waters canals have been alive with smaller Trevelly and Queenies.

FISHING REPORT – 03-12-2015

BASS
Cressbrook Dam has produced a few Bass again this week, with tailspinners, spinnerbaits and silent TN60 Jackalls working the best, mainly along the rock wall at the eagles nest and also along the steeper banks in the Cressbrook Creek arm and afternoon seems to be the most productive time. Boondooma Dam has seen the fish holding in deeper water, targeting these fish with 5/8oz spinnerbaits has been a good option, while casting plastics and blades to the edges has also worked quite well. Bjelke Peterson has also produced good numbers of Bass this week, working the flats with spinnerbaits, soft vibes and Blades has been good while Bass point has seen a few taken on Blades and trolled hard bodies and down at Moogerah and Maroon, both dams continue to fish well, Maroon has probably been the pick, with anglers landing some quality fish on a variety of lures, early morning and late afternoon have been the best times to try.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

Cod and Yellowbelly fishing is pretty good around the area at the moment; Cooby Dam has produced a few Yellowbelly around the buoy line, not just in the deeper water, but also the banks working back from the buoy line, TN60 Jackalls are the best option, however spinnerbaits and soft vibes have picked up a couple as well. Glenlyon has produced decent numbers of Yellowbelly this week, bait, spinnerbaits and hard bodies have all worked well, there has also been plenty of   Cod landed over the past week, with plenty of fish measuring between 70 and 85cm, the majority of these fish were taken on spinnerbaits. Coolmunda has again produced good numbers of Cod and Yellowbelly on trolled hard body lures, working the old creek beds and along the wall have again been the best spots to target, while some quality Cod have been hitting bigger lures worked around the timber. Leslie Dam remains fairly consistent, with reasonable numbers of Yellowbelly landed on trolled hard bodies in 15–25ft of water, brighter coloured lures seem to be working the best. There were also some smaller Cod landed, with most of these fish measuring around the 60cm mark. The land based anglers have also gone alright, with some quality Silver Perch and Catties being landed off the bank on worms and in the South Burnett, both Boondooma and Bjelke Peterson dams have again produced good numbers of Yellowbelly, in Boondooma, bait and trolled hard bodies have been effective in the main basin, casting spinnerbaits around the timber and to the edges throughout the dam has produced some quality fish, while at Bjelke Peterson, casting reaction lures, like spinnerbaits and Jackalls around the ledges and steeper banks has been a popular method. As for the rivers, the Dumeresq has seen a few Yellowbelly hitting hard bodies and spinnerbaits from the Bonshaw Weir downstream and the Condamine River saw a few more fish being landed on lures late last week, however, the storms on Sunday afternoon caused a slight rise in the river again which will slow things up for the lure anglers, so the best option would be using bait until the water starts to settle.

GOLD COAST

Offshore fishing has produced some small Black Marlin, on trolled lures, out wide from the Jumpinpin Bar, while on the 50 Fathom line, Blue Marlin and Dolphin Fish have provided some fun for the anglers. Inshore fishing has seen smaller Kingies and GT’s in the Seaway, Jewies at the mouth of Swan Bay at the Pin, Whiting near the Council Chambers in the Nerang River, Jacks around the bridges on live bait and plastics in the Coomera River and a few Flathead have been taken around Slippin Sands on smaller hard body lures.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has fired up this week, with plenty of Mackerel getting about most reefs, a few Coral Trout and Sweetlip at Sunshine Reef and there’s been the odd Black Marlin getting about 5 Mile Reef. Inshore fishing has seen the passage at Caloundra producing some nice Flathead; Trevelly and Jacks in most of the rivers, the Maroochy River has been fishing well for Flathead and Whiting on soft plastics and beach worms and at Noosa, Flathead on soft plastics at the river mouth, soft plastics and surface lures fished around Woods Bay have picked up Big Eye Trevally and GT’s, Mangrove Jack are firing up with the warmer weather, live fish baits and soft plastics are working well around the jetty’s and pontoons and the beaches have produced good numbers of quality Whiting.

FISHING REPORT – 26-11-2015

BASS

Cressbrook Dam has been fishing well for Bass, there is a lot of smaller fish around, with a few in the 30-40cm mark. These fish are hitting spinnerbaits and tailspinners in either blue or green colours, the best area has been in the Cressbrook Creek arm of the dam. Somerset Dam has kicked into gear again this week; with some good solid fish taking soft plastics, blades and tailspinners, the fish are holding in Bay 13, Queen Street and around Pelican Point. Boondooma Dam has got a good reaction bite going at the moment, with quality fish taking TN60 Jackalls and spinnerbaits worked just outside the weed edges. Bjelke Peterson has also produced good numbers of Bass this week, working the edges with spinnerbaits has been good while Bass point has seen a few taken on Blades and trolled hard bodies and down at Moogerah Dam, anglers have managed to land a few nice Bass over the past week, most fish were taken in and around the timber while casting blades, another good spot has been in the bay opposite the dam wall, while some fish were also landed trolling hard bodies along the southern banks.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

There’s only a few sleeps left until the Cod season opens in our creeks and rivers!!! At midnight, this Monday night, Queensland’s first Murray Cod closed season finishes. I know it’s been hard, but I’m sure it’s well worth protecting these magnificent fish during their spawning season. A few of the rivers have had a fresh through them in the last couple of weeks, so as the water clears up, the fishing should start to fire up as well!!! Cooby Dam has produced a few Yellowbelly around the weed edges, trolled hard bodies, TN60 Jackalls and spinnerbaits have worked well on those fish while frozen saltwater yabbies and live crays have been effective for the bait anglers. Plenty of Cod at Glenlyon this week, casting spinnerbaits and trolling hard bodies have worked well, there’s also been some nice Yellowbelly taking trolled hard bodies, jigged blades, these fish have mainly been holding around the 20-25ft of water. Coolmunda has again produced good numbers of Cod and Yellowbelly on darker coloured lures, working the old creek beds and along the wall have still been the best spots to target. Leslie Dam is continuing to fish quite well on both lures and bait, using a sounder to locate the fish in the main basin and targeting them with bait has been effective, but working soft vibes through the fish has given the best results and in the South Burnett, both Boondooma and Bjelke Peterson dams have again produced good numbers of Yellowbelly, in Boondooma, bait and trolled hard bodies have been effective in the main basin, while casting spinnerbaits around the timber and to the edges throughout the dam has produced some quality fish, while at Bjelke Peterson, trolling darker coloured hard bodies and working reaction lures, like spinnerbaits and Jackalls on the drop-offs into the creek beds and also around the steeper points has worked well.

GOLD COAST

Offshore fishing has been fairly good this week, the 24’s have produced Snapper and Mackerel, and there’s been quite a few Black Marlin and Mahi Mahi out wider on the 50’s. Inshore fishing has seen smaller Kingies and Trevally out the front of Wavebreak Island, Jumpinpin has been good for Flathead and Tailor on the incoming tide, Whiting throughout most of the estuaries and the Runaway Bay canals have seen good numbers of Mangrove Jack taken on live bait and soft plastics.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has seen some decent schools of Spanish Mackerel and Mahi Mahi getting about Brays Rock, and the Barwon Banks, while there have been good reports of Kingies on Curramundi Reef. Inshore fishing has seen the passage at Caloundra producing some nice Flathead and a few smaller Bream; Trevally and Jacks around the bridges in the Pelican Waters canals. The Maroochy River has been fishing well for Flathead and Jacks in the upper reaches, Trevally and Chopper Tailor at the mouth of the Noosa River on the run in tide and the beaches have produced good numbers of quality Whiting.

BASS

At Cressbrook Dam, the lure anglers have had limited success on schooled fish out from Deer Island, the main point in the Bull Creek arm and near the Eagles Nest, bait anglers have had better luck, with live shrimp working the best on those same fish, but there has been some good quality Bass taking spinnerbaits worked around the edges. Somerset Dam is still a bit hit and miss at the moment; there’s plenty of fish about, but it has been hard getting them to bite, the fish are holding in Bay 13, Kirkleigh and around Pelican Point, targeting these with soft plastics, blades and tailspinners will bring the best results. Boondooma is still firing, with heaps of Bass taking bait in the timbered area of both arms, working spinnerbaits just outside the weed beds and casting blades to the edges in the Stuart arm has been successful as well. Bjelke Peterson has seen trolled hard bodies, blades and spinnerbaits all working well around Lightning Ridge and Bass Point, Moogerah is a bit quiet with only the odd Bass taking spinnerbaits around the timber and much the same at Maroon Dam this week, with surface lures working well, early morning and late afternoon, while soft plastics worked around the weed banks has been productive again.

Cooby is still fishing well for Yellowbelly, working the rock walls, just out from the dam wall buoy line with TN60 Jackalls and spinnerbaits has been good and it’s also worth casting the same lures around the weed edges, on the steeper banks throughout the dam. Glenlyon has been good again this week, with plenty of Cod getting about, some decent sized fish have again been hitting bigger Spinnerbaits and trolled hard bodies in the timbered areas, Yellowbelly have also been quite active; blades, live shrimp and frozen saltwater yabbies have worked well on these fish. At Coolmunda, trolling hard bodies along the drop-offs has worked well, while casting Jackalls and Spinnerbaits around the timber has been good also and for the bait anglers, frozen saltwater yabbies and worms have also been effective around the timber. Leslie Dam has remained fairly consistent this week, there were plenty of Yellowbelly landed on frozen saltwater yabbies, mask vibes and blades in the main basin, there was also a few decent Cod landed, with the biggest coming in at 91cm, while the land based anglers landed some quality Yellowbelly and Silver Perch on live worms and in the South Burnett, both Boondooma and Bjelke Peterson dams have again produced good numbers of Yellowbelly, targeting the same areas and using the same methods as with the Bass has given the best results. As for the rivers, the Macintyre at Goondi is still a bit unsettled, however frozen saltwater yabbies have pick up a few Yellowbelly and the Condamine River has seen a good fresh, which has slowed things down for the lure anglers, bait is producing the best results, with some nice fish being landed in various spots. Lures are picking up the odd fish and there have been quite a few Cod caught and released, don’t forget it is closed season for Murray Cod in our creeks and rivers, but there’s only a couple of weeks before this finishes.

COASTAL FISHING

Offshore fishing at the Gold Coast this week, has seen good numbers of Mahi Mahi and Mulloway on the 24’s & 36’s and if you venture out wider to the 150 fathoms, there has been plenty of Blue Marlin getting about. Inshore fishing has seen Tarpon and Trevally in the Seaway, on the run in tide, a few Flathead are still getting about Kalinga Bank, Whiting at the mouth of the Coomera River and near the Council Chambers in the Nerang River and the southern Broadwater has again produced a few Sand Crabs. At the Sunny Coast, offshore fishing has seen Mahi Mahi and Cobia on Sunshine Reef and the Barwon Banks, Jew, Squire and Pearlies on Chardons Reef and Squire, Pearlies and Parrot on Sunshine Reef. Inshore fishing has seen the passage at Caloundra fishing well for Whiting, Flathead and a few solid Bream, the Maroochy River has been fishing well for Flathead around the mouth and Whiting in the upper reaches and the Noosa River has seenWhiting in good numbers around the frying pan and Munna Point and the dog beach, Trevally schools are present throughout Woods Bay early morning and late evening, Mangrove Jack have been taken from around structure in the deeper sections of the river and Tailor have been present at the river mouth near the top of the tide.
