FISHING REPORT   – 17-10-2013

BASS

Somerset Dam has seen a few fish landed this week, Queen Street, Bay13 and the Pelican Point area are the best spots, for the fish holding closer to the bottom, slow rolled soft plastics worked tight to the bottom, has been good, while a faster retrieve with plastics and blades, has worked well on any suspended fish. Cressbrook has produced some decent Bass to 45cm, casting soft plastics to the edges in the Bull Creek arm has been the best spot for these fish, there are also a few schools in the Eagles Nest area, and these fish have been tempted by hopping Jackalls and blades through them. The upper reaches of the Stuart arm of Boondooma Dam has produced some nice Bass on Jackalls and spinnerbaits. Bass Point has again been an active spot for quite a few smaller Bass at Bjelke Peterson, soft plastics and trolled lures have been effective on these fish. Moogerah Dam has been fishing quite well with some nice Bass landed in the timber on live shrimp, as well as TN60 Jackalls, MegaBass Power Bombs and gold Blades and Maroon Dam has again produced good fish on surface lures, early morning and late afternoon.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

Plenty of activity as far as Yellowbelly and Cod fishing goes this week, with a lot of our local dams producing plenty of fish, slow rolling blades, close to the bottom has been effective at Cooby, also try trolling green and yellow hard body lures, while frozen Saltwater Yabbies have been a popular bait. Glenlyon has again seen plenty of Cod getting about, some decent sized fish have been hitting bigger Spinnerbaits in the timbered areas, Yellowbelly have also been quite active, live shrimp and worms have worked well on these fish. At Coolmunda, Jackalls and Spinnerbaits have been successful on both Cod and Yellowbelly, the timbered area has produced most of the Cod, with the Yellowbelly taken off the edges and on the troll. Leslie Dam has been fishing quite well, with a number of anglers landing some nice fish, using bait, just opposite the dam wall has been popular, while a few anglers have had success up near the "Black Boys" on blades, a few smaller Cod have been getting about and heaps of Jewies have been caught off the edges, in the shallower water, and in the South Burnett, both Boondooma and Bjelke Peterson dams have produced good numbers of Yellowbelly again, in Boondooma, bait has been effective in the Stuart and Boyne arms and casting spinnerbaits around the timber in the upper reaches of the Stuart arm has produced some big fish, while at Bjelke Peterson, big Yellowbelly have been taking spinnerbaits around the timber. As for the rivers, the Macintyre at Goondiwindi and the Dumaresq River at Texas have both produced some nice Yellowbelly on trolled lures and spinnerbaits, there has been a few Cod in amongst them, don’t forget, it is closed season for Cod in the border rivers, so make sure any of these fish that are caught, are released back into the water as quickly as possible.

GOLD COAST

Offshore fishing has seen a few Cobia on the Artificial Reef, north of the Seaway, small Black Marlin on the 24’s and a few Snapper and Pearl Perch on the northern 50’s. Inshore fishing has seen Jewies on live bait and soft plastics in the Seaway, big Flathead along the rock walls in the Seaway, plenty of Gar around Crab and Wavebreak Islands, Jack’s around structure in the Coomera and Nerang Rivers, plenty of Whiting on live Yabbies and Worms throughout the estuaries and a few Sand Crabs are getting about on the Southern end of the Broadwater.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has again been a bit quiet this week, but there has been some smaller Snapper and Sweetlip on the closer reefs, Snapper, Cobia and Pearl Perch at the bottom end of North Reef and there’s also been the odd Mackerel getting about. Inshore fishing has seen most of the estuaries producing quality Flathead on soft plastics and Whiting on surface poppers, bait has also been effective on these fish, Trevally around structure in the Mooloolah River, Mangrove Jack in Bells Creek and the Pelican Waters canals while in the Noosa River, Trevally in Woods Bay, Whiting, Flathead and Jewies at the river mouth and some nice Barra, between 70 and 90cm, have been firing in the upper reaches.

 

 

Fishing Report 10-10-2013

Leslie Dam:

Lots of yellow belly caught over the weekend both on salt water yabbies and lures. Lures that are working well at the moment are blades and lipless crank baits, Working them in the shallow water around the edges of the dam early in the morning and late afternoon. Couple of cod around the 7 kg mark caught in the Condamine River at Warwick on spinnerbaits with large Colorado style blades.

Cooby Dam:

Has been producing some good quality yellow belly both along the shallow weed beds and in the deeper water around 30ft mark. Lures like the Strada Ferals and Stump Jumpers in red/black or black/yellow have been working well on the troll while casting tn60 or mask vibes having been working well in that deeper water hopping them of the bottom.

Cressbrook Dam:

It has still been a bit tough for anglers this week. There has been bass caught around the 40cm size in scattered schools around the dam. Most fish have been caught on soft plastics and smaller vibes. Trolling around the points has seen a few yellow belly of legal size also.

Glenlyon Dam:

This week has seen lots of Murray Cod caught. Lots of small cod but there have been a number of larger cod around the 10kg mark about half way up the dam. Most of the cod have been caught on spinnerbaits and also on live shrimp. The yellow belly have been caught on saltwater yabbies and small hard body lures. The better quality have been caught on hard bodies  with yellow belly up to 3kg.

Coolmunda:

There have been quite a few yellowbelly caught this week. Fish have been biting on a number of lures like hardbody and spinnerbaits in different blade configuratios. Saltwater yabbies has been the best bait to use. A few Cod have been caught on the troll on hardbody lures and the odd one on bait.

Texas:

Plenty of yellow belly this week, taking a variety of lures this week as the water has cleared up a bit. Hard body, soft vibes, tn60 jackalls and spinnerbaits have all produced fish. Saltwater yabbies have also worked well but most fish have been caught on lures

Goondiwindi:

The fishing has been a little slow as the water temperature is still quite cool and the yellow belly haven’t really been on the bite. There have been a few caught on hardbody lures but  have been very scattered.

Tweed:

Inshore:

Pleanty of Flathead caught on soft plastics casting over the drop offs and weed banks. Trolling small hardbody has also produced a few. Bait fishing with small white bait has seen a few nice flathead as well. Good numbers of whiting have started to turn up around the Anchorage. With the warmer water Mangrove Jack are starting to show up at Tumbulgum Bridge on live mullet as well as the odd Jew. Along the beaches around Kings cliff there have still been Tailor about.

Offshore:

Some good quality Cobia at 9 mile reef and Fido’s reef. Still some good snapper around being caught on soft plastics, lucanus Jigs and on fresh strip baits and live baits.

Southport:

Inshore:

In the Seaway there have been a variety of fish caught including Jew, King Fish, Trevally and Flathead caught on both soft plastics and live baits on both the top end of the tide and the bottom end of the tide. Tailor around the pumping jetty at night time. Some good Gar around wave break island. More Flathead around crab island and Kalinga bank. Few jacks being caught up and around the Nerang River on live bait and soft plastics

Offshore:

Cobia are showing in good numbers around Northern Reef and around South Stradbroke Artifical Reef caught on live yakka. Out wide at the 50f there have been King Fish, Pearl Perch and Snapper caught on soft plastics and drifting baits. Also been reports of a couple of Black Marlin  on the 24f.

Caloundra:

There have been some big numbers of whiting around the powerboat club. Whiting are responding well to poppers, blades and small 2’’ plastics at the moment. Flathead are around but best on the outgoing tide with soft plastics and live mullet. Lots of bream around the boardwalk and pontoons  but can be very inconsisatant in size. Bells Creek is producing a few Mangrove Jack at night on live mullet and a few around the jettys on soft plastics

Offshore:

There have been a few Mackeral starting to show up at 5 Mile Reef. At Currumundi Reef there have been a few Sweetlip. Snapper on 12 mile reef, Caloundra wide and the Barwon Banks

Marooydore:

In curramundi Lake there have been lots of whiting caught on surface poppers in clear colours. Maroochy river has seen Trevally , flathead and Mangrove Jack around the Bridge at Bli Bli. Towards the mouth of the river on the high tide Trevally have been around along with some large flathead.

Noosa:

Around the frying pan has seen pleanty of whiting of which most have been taken on sand worms and yabbies. Been pleanty of flathead up and around Weyba creek. The Noosa river mouth has seen lots of trevally on the high tide at dusk using soft plastics in white colours and metal slices.

Fishing Report 3-10-2013

FISHING REPORT   – 03-10-2013

BASS

Somerset Dam has again produced good numbers of fish this week, Bay13 and the Pelican Point area are still the best spots, for the fish holding closer to the bottom, slow rolled soft plastics worked tight to the bottom, has been good, while a faster retrieve with plastics and blades, has worked well on any suspended fish. Cressbrook has produced Bass on soft plastics around Deer Island and Eagles Nest; you could also try casting light weighted spinnerbaits and soft plastics to the edges. Good fish on bait in the Stuart and Boyne arms of Boondooma Dam, and if you travel into the upper reaches of the Stuart arm, big Bass to 50cm have been taking spinnerbaits. Casting Jackalls and blades to the edges has been good for Bass at Bjelke Peterson; a lot of the fish are on the small side, but there has been a few up around the 40cm mark. Moogerah Dam has been closed to all water-based recreation activities including boating, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The lake was closed due to unacceptably high levels of bacteria detected in routine testing. These closures have been made as a precautionary measure and in the interest of public safety, for updates, go to www.seqwater.com.au, and Maroon Dam has again produced good fish on surface lures, early morning and late afternoon.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

Plenty of activity as far as Yellowbelly and Cod fishing goes this week, with a lot of our local dams producing plenty of fish. Glenlyon has again seen plenty of Cod getting about, there are some good sized fish, however there are quite a few undersize fish in amongst them, so make sure any fish under 60cm go back. Yellowbelly have also been firing here, shrimp, lures and spinnerbaits have worked well. Lures are definitely the go at Coolmunda at the moment, trolling them along the old creek beds has worked well for both Cod and Yellowbelly. Leslie Dam has seen some quality fish taking live shrimp, in the upper reaches and also opposite the dam wall, late afternoon has been the best time, casting Jackalls to the edges has produced a few fish as well. Connolly Dam fished well again over the weekend, with some nice Yellowbelly taken on salt water yabbies, and in the South Burnett, both Boondooma and Bjelke Peterson dams have produced good numbers of fish again, the Yellowbelly have been in the same areas as the Bass in Boondooma, bait has been effective in the Stuart and Boyne arms and casting spinnerbaits around the timber in the upper reaches of the Stuart arm has produced some big fish, while at Bjelke Peterson, big Yellowbelly have been taking spinnerbaits around the timber, but ice jigs and vertically worked blades, in 15ft of water, between Bass Point and the timber has provided the most fish . As for the rivers, the Balonne at St.George is a bit quiet, but live Crays have produced some good Yellowbelly, and the Dumeresq at Texas has seen good numbers of Yellowbelly taking live Crays as well.

GOLD COAST

Inshore fishing has been good for Flathead and Mulloway on plastics and live bait, in the Seaway, off Crab Island and around the Pin, the odd Kingy at the pipeline on the run out tide, good numbers of Whiting in the Nerang River and a few Sand Crabs have started to show up on the Southern end of the Broadwater.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has again been a bit quiet this week, but there has been some smaller Snapper and Sweetlip on the closer reefs and there’s also been the odd Mackerel getting about. Inshore fishing has seen plenty of big Whiting throughout most of the estuaries, quality Flathead on soft plastics at the bar entrance, Trevally around structure in the Mooloolah River, a few Queenies in the Pelican Waters canals, Mangrove Jack in Bells Creek, while in the Noosa River, quality Bream and Whiting have been out in big numbers and some quality Jacks to 58cm have been providing some fun for the Anglers in the upper reaches.

HERVEY BAY

Good numbers of Whiting and Flathead off the beaches, Barra and Threadfin Salmon on trolled lures in the Burrum River and Fraser Island is producing plenty of average size Tailor.

BASS

 

Somerset Dam has again produced some good numbers of fish this week, there’s not as many big fish about, but the quality is still there, Bay13 and the Pelican Point area are still the best spots, slow rolled soft plastics worked tight to the bottom, has been good, while a faster retrieve with plastics and blades, has worked well on the suspended fish. A few smaller fish near the Eagles Nest at Cressbrook, it’s also worth a look on the flats, out from the boat ramp and in the Cressbrook Creek arm of the dam. Boondooma has again seen some decent Bass taking live bait around the timber in the Stuart arm, some big fish have been caught in the main bay also, trolled hard bodies and Jackalls have picked up most of the fish. Bjelke Peterson is still fishing well, Bass Point has again been a hot spot, casting Jackalls and smaller spinnerbaits to the edges early morning and then using plastics and blades a bit deeper, later in the day, has been good as well. Moogerah Dam remains fairly consistent with some schooled Bass still located in the main basin; these fish are taking a variety of lures, including soft plastics, blades and ice jigs, reports are still coming in, of some nice fish being landed off the edges, and around the timber on Jackalls and spinnerbaits and Maroon Dam has started to produce fish on surface lures, early morning and late afternoon.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

Cooby Dam is still producing decent numbers of Yellowbelly, working the weed edges early morning and late afternoon has been good, trolling hard bodies and using bait in the deeper parts has been effective as well. Glenlyon has continued to fish well this week, with plenty of Cod from 70cm and upwards, as well as heaps of Yellowbelly being caught. The biggest Cod this week has been 106cm long, hard bodies and spinnerbaits are working well, although live shrimp are starting to produce good numbers as well. Lures have again worked well at Coolmunda this week; working them close to the bottom has been successful, while bait has worked well around the timber, a few Cod have started to show up as well, which have provided a bit of fun for the anglers. Leslie Dam has improved this week, with some good numbers being caught on trolled hard bodies and spinnerbaits, the bait anglers are still landing a few fish just opposite the dam wall and around the timber; while live shrimp and frozen salt water yabbies have again been popular. Connolly Dam fished well again over the weekend, with some nice Yellowbelly taken on salt water yabbies, and in the South Burnett, both Boondooma and Bjelke Peterson dams have produced good numbers of fish, mainly around the timbered parts, with live shrimp and frozen salt water yabbies also being popular in those dams. As for the rivers, the Balonne at St.George is fishing well for Yellowbelly on live bait, with a few fish starting to take spinnerbaits, the Macintyre at Goondiwindi is producing good numbers of Yellowbelly, mainly on bait, with a few hitting lures and quite a few Cod are being caught and released as well.

Offshore fishing has been a bit quiet due to the wind this week, but the outer reefs have produced some quality Snapper, while the close artificial reefs have been good for Cobia. Inshore fishing has seen Tailor and Trevally on metal lures in the Seaway, Flathead everywhere on soft plastics and trolled lures from the Broadwater through to the Pin; the Pin has also produced some quality Mulloway on plastics, good numbers of Whiting in the Nerang River and a few Dart, Whiting and Bream off the beaches.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has been a bit quieter this week, however there have been some big Amberjack caught on the wider reefs, still a few Snapper and Pearl Perch getting about, and a few smaller Black Marlin and Sailfish are still getting about. Inshore fishing has seen plenty of big Whiting throughout most of the estuaries, quality Flathead on soft plastics at the bar entrance, small Trevally at Military Jetty and also in the Pelican Waters canals, Mangrove Jack in Bells Creek, while in the Noosa River, quality Bream and Whiting have been out in big numbers.

FRASER ISLAND

A carbon copy at Fraser this week, north of Happy Valley has been popular, and the average size of the Tailor is still around the 55cm mark.

BIG BASS FIRING AT SOMERSET

Somerset Dam has produced some cracking fish this week, with good numbers of fish over the 2 - 2.5kg mark, there has also been quite a few over the 3kg mark, with the biggest for the week being 58cm long and tipping the scales at 3.79kg, Bay13 and Pelican Point have been the best spots, while slow rolled soft plastics, tight to the bottom, has been the best method. Not a lot to report from Cressbrook at the moment, it has been a bit quiet this week, Boondooma has again seen some decent Bass taking live bait in the Stuart arm, casting Jackals and spinnerbaits around the timber should produce some decent fish as well. Bjelke Peterson has fished alright again this week, working around Bass Point has produced some good results, casting Jackals and smaller spinnerbaits to the edges early morning and then using ice jigs and blades in a bit deeper water as the day warms up has been very effective as well.  Moogerah Dam remains fairly consistent with some schooled Bass still located in the main basin; these fish are taking a variety of lures, including soft plastics, blades and ice jigs, there have also been reports of some nice fish being landed off the edges, while casting Jackalls.

Cooby Dam has again produced decent numbers of Yellowbelly, the fish still seem to be hanging just out from the weed edges and trolling shallow diving hard bodies or casting spinnerbaits and Jackals in tight to the weed has again been effective, while using bait in the deeper parts has produced a few fish as well. Glenlyon has fired this week, with plenty of Cod from 70cm and upwards, as well as heaps of Yellowbelly being caught. The biggest Cod was 110cm long, while hard bodies and spinnerbaits have been the most effective. Lures are starting to become effective at Coolmunda as the water temperature rises, this week has seen quite a few Yellowbelly caught on trolled lures, working them close to the bottom has been successful, while bait has worked well around the timber. Leslie Dam was a little quiet over this past week, however, there were reports of some nice fish landed on lures, one local angler landed some nice Yellowbelly, with the largest measuring 50cm, and a few undersized Cod were caught on Jackalls and spinnerbaits. The bait anglers are still landing a few fish just opposite the dam wall; with live shrimp and frozen salt water yabbies proving to be popular. Connolly Dam fished very well over the weekend, with some nice Yellowbelly taken on salt water yabbies, with the best time being late in the afternoon, a couple of local anglers had success on mask vibes, landing 16 nice fish on Saturday afternoon. As for the rivers, the Balonne at St.George is fishing well for Yellowbelly on live bait, with a few fish starting to take spinnerbaits, there has been quite a bit of action in Dalrymple Creek, just to the west of Allora with a few anglers managing to land some nice fish over the past week and Kings Creek near Clifton has produced some good catches of just legal Yellowbelly on spinnerbaits and jointed shads.

GOLD COAST

Offshore fishing has been a bit quiet due to the wind this week, but the 36’s north east of the Seaway have produced some quality Snapper, while the close artificial reefs have been good for Trag Jew of an evening. Inshore fishing has seen Trevally on metal lures in the Seaway, Flathead everywhere on soft plastics and trolled lures from the Broadwater through to the Pin, quality Whiting at the Council Chambers in the Nerang River and good numbers of Dart, Whiting and Bream off the beaches.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing is very similar to last week, with some big Snapper and average size Pearl Perch on 12 Mile Reef and the Barwon Banks, the inner reefs have been good for a mixed bag of reef fish, while a few smaller Black Marlin and Sailfish are still getting about. Inshore fishing has seen plenty of big Whiting around the Power Boat Club, quality Flathead on soft plastics at the bar entrance, small Trevally in the Pelican Waters canals, some decent Bass in the upper reaches of the Mooloolah River, while in the Noosa River, Tailor are hitting surface poppers in Woods Bay, big Flathead and Whiting throughout, some nice Jewies to 80cm in the deeper holes and the upper reaches have seen some nice Mangrove Jack getting about.

FRASER ISLAND

No real changes from our last report, the fishing on Fraser has again been good over the last week, north of Happy Valley has been popular, and the average size of the Tailor is still around the 55cm mark.

 

FISHING REPORT   – 13-09-2013

BASS

Not a lot has changed at Cressbrook this week, fishing the flats, out from the boat ramp, in the Bull Creek arm and also in the Cressbrook Creek arm, in about 30ft of water has produced a few fish, working the edges early morning and late afternoon, with Jackals, Spinnerbaits and blades has been effective as well. Somerset is a bit patchy at the moment, but there are still some quality fish getting about, Bay13 to The Spit is still the best part of the dam to target, while Ice Jigs, Soft Plastics and Blades have been the most effective lures. Boondooma has again been a bit tough for the lure anglers, but some quality Bass to 50cm have been taking live bait in the Stuart arm, if you are a keen lure angler, casting Jackals and spinerbaits around the timber should produce some decent fish as well. Bjelke Peterson has picked up this week, working around Bass Point has produced some good results, casting Jackals and smaller spinnerbaits to the edges early morning and then using ice jigs and blades in a bit deeper water as the day warms up has been very effective.  At Moogerah, the schooled Bass in the main basin are still hitting ice jigs; however, they are shutting down fairly quickly, there are also some nice fish taking hard body lures in the timbered area of the dam, and there hasn't been much change at Maroon, with only a few fish taken in the weed pockets, early in the morning on fly and soft plastics.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

Cooby Dam has again produced decent numbers of Yellowbelly, the fish still seem to be hanging just out from the weed edges and trolling shallow diving hard bodies or casting spinnerbaits in tight to the weed has again been effective, while using bait in the deeper parts has produced a few fish as well. Glenlyon is a bit quiet at the moment, but there have been a few Yellowbelly taken on live shrimp, frozen saltwater yabbies and hard bodies in about 12-15ft of water, Cod have proven to be little bit harder to catch, although this should improve over the coming weeks, providing the weather stays kind to us. Bait has again been a good option at Coolmunda , with some nice Yellowbelly and a couple of Cod taken around the timber, but as the water temperature rises, lures will start to become very effective. Leslie Dam saw a slight increase in activity over the past week, with a few Yellowbelly and Silver perch landed on trolled hard body lures, in approximately 10 foot of water, in front of the Washpool, there have also been some nice Yellowbelly caught, working the banks with Jackals, while opposite the dam wall in about 30 foot of water, has been a pretty good spot for the bait anglers. Connolly has improved slightly as well, with a few undersized Yellowbelly and the odd Catfish landed on worms during the past week. As for the rivers, the Balonne at St.George is fishing well for Yellowbelly on live crays, and the Condamine River, from Warwick to Dalby, continues to fish well for Yellowbelly and Cod, with bait, Jackals and spinnerbaits all proving to be effective.

Offshore fishing has been a bit quiet, but the 50’s have produced some quality Pearl Perch, Kingies and Amberjack, while the close artificial reefs have been good for Cobia. Inshore fishing has seen Jew, Tailor and Trevally in the Seaway on the run in tide, good numbers of Flathead on soft plastics and trolled lures throughout the Broadwater, quality Whiting at the Council Chambers in the Nerang River, Tailor off the beaches and a few Sand Crabs have started to show up in the southern end of the Broadwater.

FRASER ISLAND

Good numbers of Tailor, Whiting and Dart getting about, the average size of the Tailor is starting to pick up, with a lot of the fish pushing the 55cm mark.

 

FISHING REPORT   – 06-09-2013

CRESSBROOK BASS ELECTRIC RESULTS

15 anglers fronted for this Bass Electric comp but only 5 weighed in fish. The bass that were weighed in were very impressive, with the biggest fish tipping the scales at 1.59kg. Fishing in 30ft of water, on the flats in the Bull Creek arm and also out from the boat ramp seemed to be the best spots to be, while soft plastics worked for the top two, ice jigs and blades did the job for the third placed angler.

BASS

Some big Bass coming out of Somerset at the moment, anywhere from Bay 13 to the spit has been productive, soft plastics and soft vibes have been the most effective on these fish. Boondooma has been a bit tough for the lure anglers this week, but some quality Bass to 50cm have been taking live bait around Pelican Point. Bjelke Peterson has seen some quality Bass taken on blades, around the timber, in the far reaches of the dam and Moogerah has again produced decent numbers, with the same lures working successfully, including small blades, soft plastics, soft vibes and ice jigs. At Moogerah, the Bass are still schooled in the main basin, however they are starting to shut down, however there are still some nice fish hitting blades, with the largest reported, measuring 49.5cm. There are also reports of some fish being landed in the timber on Jackalls and casting the edges with spinnerbaits. There hasn't been much change at Maroon with only a few fish taken in the weed pockets, early in the morning on fly and soft plastics.

YELLOWBELLY AND COD

Cooby Dam is still producing decent numbers of Yellowbelly, the fish seem to be hanging just out from the weed edges and trolling shallow diving hard bodies or casting spinnerbaits in tight to the weed has been effective. At Glenlyon this week, Yellowbelly have been taken on bait and hard bodies, some quality Cod up to just under the meter mark have been taking spinnerbaits and hard body lures. Bait has been the best option at Coolmunda this week, with some nice Yellowbelly and a couple of 70cm Cod taken in the timber. In the Warwick area, Leslie Dam saw some action during the week with reports of some nice fish being landed, with reports of some Yellowbelly and legal sized Cod to 85cm, taken on spinnerbaits, towards the back of the dam, there were also some quality caught using a variety of bait, including live shrimp and frozen salt water yabbies, these fish were in deeper water, around the 30 foot mark. As for the rivers, the Macintyre at Goondiwindi has again produced good sized Yellowbelly on bait and hard bodies, the Balonne at St.George is fishing well for Yellowbelly on live worms, but there are plenty of Carp about, the Dumeresq has picked up a bit, with Yellowbelly biting well on bait, and the Condamine River continues to fish well for Yellowbelly and Cod, with most of the weirs and popular holes, throughout the system proving to be quite productive.

GOLD COAST

Offshore fishing this past week has again seen Cobia taking live bait on the closer artificial reefs and out wider; the northern 36’s has been firing for some big Kingies and Amberjack. Plenty of Jewies off the Seaway wall, on live bait, good numbers of Flathead on soft plastics and trolled lures throughout the Broadwater and Jumpinpin, quality Bream around the bridges and pontoons throughout the Nerang River and good numbers of Tailor around Crusoe Island.

SUNSHINE COAST

Offshore fishing has again seen the outer reefs fishing well for Snapper, Pearl Perch, Yellow Tail Kingfish and Amberjack, while inshore fishing has seen plenty of Whiting around the Power Boat Club, big Bream and Flathead on soft plastics, off Military Jetty and around the mouth of the Maroochy River, Trevelly and Mangrove Jack at night, under the bridges, in the Pelican Waters canals and in the Noosa River, Trevally are hitting surface poppers on the flats, while  Queenfish, Jewies and Flathead, have been taking live bait around the river mouth.

FRASER ISLAND

Still some reasonable catches of Tailor off the exposed beaches, with most of them still average size.
